Role overview

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily fleet and driver schedules
  • Plan trips and routes to use vehicles and fuel efficiently
  • Allocate drivers by licence category and vehicle type
  • Check that vehicle registration, insurance and permits are valid and on board
  • Check driver licences and keep their documents up to date
  • Keep fuel records and compare consumption against distance
  • Keep maintenance and service records and book vehicles for servicing
  • Brief drivers on routes, safety rules and customer instructions
  • Follow up with drivers during trips and manage delays
  • Record and report incidents, accidents and traffic fines

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of transport or fleet experience
  • Previous experience as a driver or team leader is preferred
  • A valid driving licence is an advantage
  • Knowledge of vehicle documents, trip sheets and fuel and maintenance records
  • Ability to use spreadsheets or fleet software for schedules
  • Clear spoken English and Hindi to manage drivers
  • Valid passport
  • Medically fit for overseas employment

About the work

You assign drivers and vehicles to trips, track their progress and solve problems on the road. You are the link between drivers, the maintenance team and the operations manager. The employer expects well-planned trips, complete records and quick, calm handling of incidents.
