You look after the instruments that measure and control pressure, temperature, flow and level in a process plant. You install them, wire them to the control system and keep them reading correctly. The employer expects strict safety discipline. Work in a plant area starts only with a permit-to-work, a written approval for a specific job, and with lock-out / tag-out (LOTO), where the supply is locked off and tagged.
You have worked in a process plant and respect the permit system. You are careful with small signals and fine terminations.
