Role overview

Experienced heavy truck drivers are required for goods transport between warehouses, ports, factories and project sites. The work includes local deliveries and longer routes across the Emirates, with loading yards and industrial areas as regular stops. AED 2,300 to 4,000 a month, indicative.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive heavy cargo, flatbed and reefer trucks on assigned routes
  • Check tyres, brakes, air pressure, lights, mirrors and fluid levels before every trip
  • Check that the load is balanced and properly secured with straps, chains or tarpaulins
  • Reverse and park accurately at loading bays and tight yards
  • Collect delivery notes and get them signed on arrival
  • Keep to speed limits and heavy vehicle lane and timing rules
  • Monitor the temperature display when carrying chilled or frozen goods
  • Record trip distance, fuel use and rest breaks in the log
  • Report breakdowns, damage and delays to the dispatcher promptly
  • Assist with loading and unloading supervision when required

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of heavy truck driving experience
  • A valid UAE driving licence in the right category is an advantage. Otherwise a valid Indian licence for the same vehicle class, and willingness to complete the UAE licence process the employer arranges
  • Experience on long routes and highway driving
  • Knowledge of load securing and weight limits
  • Ability to complete simple delivery and trip paperwork
  • Basic English or Hindi for dispatch instructions
  • Valid passport
  • Medically fit for overseas employment

About the work

You drive a loaded rigid truck, such as a cargo, flatbed or refrigerated (reefer) truck, from the pick-up point to the delivery point. You are responsible for the vehicle and for the safe arrival of the cargo. The employer expects careful driving, correct paperwork and honest reporting of delays, damage or faults. Long-haul routes pay at the upper end of the range.

Ideal candidate

A steady, disciplined truck driver with several years on Indian highways and a good record. You plan your rest and fuel stops, and you check your truck before it moves.

Salary & benefits
