Role overview

Electrical maintenance technicians are required to carry out planned and breakdown maintenance across plants, buildings and multiple sites. The role suits a diploma holder with plant or facility experience. AED 2,000 to 3,500 a month, indicative.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on panels, motors, pumps and lighting systems
  • Attend breakdowns and restore supply or equipment quickly and safely
  • Inspect and service motor starters, contactors and protection relays
  • Tighten and thermally check busbar and cable terminations
  • Check and test generators, ATS units and UPS systems with the senior technician
  • Update computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) work orders with findings and parts used
  • Recommend repairs for ageing equipment
  • Raise requests for spare parts with part numbers
  • Plan isolations with the site team and apply lock-out / tag-out (LOTO), locking the supply off and tagging it
  • Cover shifts and on-call rotas as scheduled

Requirements

  • 3 or more years of electrical maintenance experience in a plant or facility
  • ITI Electrician, a diploma in electrical engineering or an equivalent trade certificate is preferred
  • Understanding of LOTO and safe isolation
  • A DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) or other local authority competency approval is an advantage where the employer requires it
  • Willing to work shifts and be on call
  • Valid passport
  • Medically fit for overseas employment

About the work

You work through a maintenance schedule and attend breakdowns across several locations. You judge which fault can be fixed on the spot and which needs a planned shutdown. The employer expects records to be kept in the system, spares to be used carefully and shift and on-call duty to be covered reliably.
