Role overview
Container drivers are required for port, terminal, depot and warehouse operations. The work is moving 20-foot and 40-foot containers on trailers between ports, container yards, freight forwarders and distribution centres. AED 2,500 to 4,500 a month, indicative.
Experience requirement. Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience driving heavy trucks with container trailers.
Key responsibilities
- Drive a prime mover with a container chassis between ports, depots and customers
- Check the container number, seal number and booking against the job order
- Lock and unlock the container twist locks on the chassis
- Pass gate checks and follow terminal queue and speed rules
- Position the truck correctly under cranes, reach stackers and loaders
- Look over the container for damage and report it before leaving
- Keep to weight limits and report overweight loads
- Reverse the trailer into warehouse docks without hitting the dock edge
- Hand over delivery documents and get them stamped on arrival
- Return empty containers to the right depot
Requirements
- At least 3 years of container or heavy truck driving experience
- A valid UAE driving licence in the right category is an advantage. Otherwise a valid Indian licence for the same vehicle class, and willingness to complete the UAE licence process the employer arranges
- Knowledge of port and terminal procedures is an advantage
- Experience with coupling a trailer or chassis
- Ability to read job orders and container documents
- Basic English or Hindi for gate and dispatch staff
- Valid passport
- Medically fit for overseas employment

About the work
You collect loaded or empty containers at the port or depot and deliver them to the customer, then return empties as instructed. Much of the day involves queues, gate checks and exact yard positions. The employer expects punctual collection, correct container details and safe handling inside busy terminals.
Ideal candidate
An experienced haulage driver who is comfortable in port traffic and careful with container paperwork. You stay patient in queues and accurate at the gate.

Salary & benefits
AED 2,500–4,500 /mo — approximately ₹64,800 – ₹116,700 per month (indicative). Final salary depends on your experience, skills, communication and interview performance, and on the employer's selection.
